Paulistinha P-56 por World Models
Hello to all the model aviators in Brazil. :)
I joined your forum because I wanted to thank Reinaldo Martins for developing the Paulistinha model airplane. And I also wanted to show off my version.
When I first became aware of this model in early 2010 I fell in love with it right away. I knew I must have one some day. My beautiful wife bought this kit for me and gave it to me last Christmas. I only got around to building it starting in May 2011. I had the maiden flight two days ago and it was a perfect event. The model lifted her tail at about 5 feet or so of rollout, and then tracked pretty much straight with only a little rudder needed to keep her tracking along the runway centerline for a nice long and scale looking takeoff.
She needed only a few clicks of down elevator and she was then perfectly trimmed for level flight at 1/2 throttle. I performed some stalls, and some stall turns, and a loop, and a slow roll. Landing was scale, just like the real thing, and so the maiden flight could not have been better. I was so very pleased. :)
Although I know this forum is dedicated to electric power flight, my airplane is powered with a glow engine but I hope you will forgive me that. It is a Thunder Tiger F-54S four stroke engine. I used a Zinger 11x5 wood propeller and the fuel was 15% nitro glow fuel from Powermaster.
I installed scale Piper Cub wheels and tires on my Paulistinha because the kit supplied tires and wheels just were not even close to scale looking. I think the Cub tires make the airplane look much better.
I installed a nice looking lady pilot in place of the included 'cartoon' looking pilot that World Models gives us.
While reading this forum and Reinaldo's thread on the Paulistinha I saw the photos of the full sized aircraft he used to create his model from. I thought it would be nice to use the same registration numbers as the full size aircraft and so I had a set of stickers made up for the plane. PP-ZJF
I hope you like my version of the World Models Paulistinha P-56. :)

[i:3dcdab986b]Olá a todos os aviadores modelo no Brasil. :)
PP-ZJF
Espero que gostem a minha versão da World Models Paulistinha P-56. :)

Thanks guys for making me feel welcome! :)
I actually was going to be filming the maiden flight, but like an idiot I neglected to double check my camera battery and it died after only a couple of minutes.
http://www.vimeo.com/24863221
I intend to try the filming again at the next flight.
By the way, it never ceases to amaze me how many people can read and write English from a country outside the USA. It makes it so easy for us foreigners!

Thanks fella's! :)
@ Xincha: I had thought about using a USA registration number, but decided I wanted to stay with the original scale version.
BTW, I know the airplane is nearly impossible to see in the video. Here is a tip: watch in full screen HD version, and look at the lower 1/3 of the picture. The camera on my head was angled upward a little too much so the airplane is most of the time in the lower 1/3 of the video frame.
[i:b16407c4c9]Cara graças a! :)
